After many residencies, concerts, and rehearsals, it’s time for our first record! To record “Éclosion,” Orchid settled in at La Briche studios in Hommes (37). An enchanting landscape nestled just a few kilometers from Tours, the property includes teepees and a barnyard. Under the direction of Thomas Julienne, the ensemble took advantage of this ideal setting to record the eleven pieces of the album, composed by six musicians from the orchestra. The program features music of varied aesthetics, with pieces that are introspective, danceable…even outright epic. All of Orchid’s energy and madness manifests in an hour of music. Between a desert crossing, an interstellar journey, and a forest coffee break, the listener is invited to embark on a journey to the outer reaches of orchestral jazz…
